HopeBUILDERS was founded in 2000 by a group of local volunteers with a passion for improving the lives of people in need across Kansas City. With a desire to use their construction-related skills to help others, the founders organized volunteers from six local churches and completed the first home repair project in October 2000. Today, HopeBUILDERS’ continues with its mission to help our neighbors in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area live in safety, comfort, and dignity by providing with accessibility solutions and home repairs. HopeBUILDERS’ primary service area includes Jackson County, Missouri, and Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas, but can cover Leavenworth, Miami and Douglas counties in Kansas, and Cass and Clay counties in Missouri when resources are available. Additionally, HopeBUILDERS is the only non-profit providing accessibility modifications and home repair for the entire Kansas City Metro area.
