March was a busy month for us at HopeBUILDERS! We served 13 clients, through either ramp construction or completing critical home repairs. Here’s who we helped this month:
Carla S. from KCMO: Carla needed a ramp for her four-year-old grandson with Cerebral Palsy from her front porch to the sidewalk. The project was funded by Variety KC and completed with volunteers from McCarthy Building Company.
Ray B. from KCMO: Ray is paralyzed from a car accident and needed a 19-foot ramp to his driveway. The project was completed in partnership with The Whole Person.
Shirley P. from Overland Park, KS: Shirley needed steps and a handrail rebuilt from her garage to house in hopes of a safer transition with a walker.
Margaret W. from KCK: Margaret requested a security door to be installed and a kitchen light to be replaced.
Sara J. from Independence, MO: Sara needed a ramp for her mother. The ramp with primarily constructed by volunteers from Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church.
Jose M. from KCK: Jose has numerous health issues and limited mobility. He needed a short (80”) ramp and railing so he could safely get out of house.
Tom and Verlie T. from Olathe, KS: Deconstruction of a garage ramp that was built in 2017 for re-use.
Winnie K. from KCMO: Winnie needed grab bars and railings
Sheryl W. from KCK: Sheryl needed grab bars and a railing to her basement
Marie L. from Olathe, KS: Removed fiberglass tub and added shower
Vanessa F. from Overland Park, KS: Completed emergency window repairs
Cleveland E. from KCK: Completed plumbing repairs
Estella J. from KCK: Repaired electrical and kitchen cabinets
