About HopeBUILDERS

Since 2000, HopeBUILDERS (formerly FaithBUILDERS) has been helping people in the Kansas City Metro area live in Safety, Comfort, and Dignity. We have helped hundreds of homeowners regain hope that their community indeed cares about them. With all the natural disasters occurring around the world, HopeBUILDERS exists to ensure that those in need right in our back yard are not forgotten.

Our Organizaton

HopeBUILDERS is a locally-formed, independent group specifically organized to help people with their home maintenance and repair needs. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Our organization is made up of concerned volunteers from churches, the community at large, and corporations. Funding is provided by churches, individual & corporate donations, and grants.

The HopeBUILDERS' philosophy is based on close cooperation between the homeowner, the non-profit, and many partner organizations. HopeBUILDERS provides the project management, administration, labor, and arranges with partner organizations and donors to secure the project funding.

What We Do

We help disadvantaged people maintain or repair their homes. "Disadvantaged" generally means elderly or disabled, but may also include low income families. Examples of the types of work performed includes:

  • Wheelchair ramps
  • Accessibility adaptations (such as door widenings)
  • Painting (interior and exterior)
  • Floor and Wall repairs
  • Yard clean-up, including mowing

Funded work is limited to the main living building, which must be owned and occupied by the individual requesting assistance. HopeBUILDERS retains the final option on what work is provided. For more details, review our assistance guidelines.
